Our first Free Will Fortnight of the year will run from Monday 16 May - Sunday 29 May 2022.

We are offering you the chance to make or amend a simple will, completely free of charge.

We know that thinking about your will can be a bit daunting, but we are here to help. Our Free Will Fortnight is here to make it easier for you.

What is Free Will Fortnight?

Free Will Fortnight runs for two weeks, twice a year. Thanks to the pro bono support of experienced and reliable local solicitors, those who sign up are able to make or amend their will free of charge. This spring, meetings with the solicitors will need to be held between 16-29 May.

Having a professionally written, up-to-date will is the best way to ensure your wishes are followed after you die. It allows you to provide for your friends and family and if you wish, to leave a legacy to your chosen charities.

When may I need a complex will?

Our Free Will Fortnight offer covers simple wills only. You may need a complex will if:

  • You are a business owner
  • You want to create a joint will with your spouse
  • You have a previous spouse
  • You expect to accumulate more assets
  • You want to set up a trust fund for your children
  • Your assets are valuable enough that estate taxes will apply

How to get involved:

To take part, please contact Hannah Lloyd in the Fundraising team before Monday 16 May 2022 and she will refer you to our partner solicitors. You will then be able to arrange a meeting with our partner solicitors during a set time period, to start your free will process.

Thinking of Trinity

Around £1.5m is donated to Trinity through gifts in wills each year. These generous gifts provide vital funding to help us be there for the next family who needs our unique care. We hope you’ll consider supporting us with a gift in your will, although there is no obligation to do so.

It costs over £15m every year to keep our services running. Leaving a gift in your will helps keep the palliative and end of life care we provide completely free, allowing our services to be accessible to anyone and everyone who needs us.

Will writing support for patients – throughout the year

In addition to Free Will Fortnight, we also run a permanent Free Will Scheme for all Trinity patients, throughout the year. This enables patients to make or amend a simple will for free. A local solicitor can visit you at home, at Trinity or arrange a visit to their office.

If you are a patient here at Trinity and you would like advice about writing or amending your will, please contact Hannah Lloyd:
